These Advisory Guidelines clarify how the Data Protection Provisions in the PDPA apply to education institutions' collection, use and disclosure of personal data, as well as suggest good data protection practices in certain scenarios.

Revisions to Advisory Guidelines (updated 25 April 2024)

The Advisory Guidelines have been updated to take into account the amendments to the PDPA and the Personal Data Protection Regulations which came into force on 1 February 2021.

New and up-to-date scenarios illustrating the application of the PDPA to the education sector have been added to the Advisory Guidelines.
