• Under the Personal Data Protection (Amendment) Act 2020, the validity of the results received from the Do Not Call Registry has been revised from 30 to 21 calendar days from 1 February 2021. Individuals should not receive telemarketing messages from organisations 21 calendar days after registration.

Breach of the Protection Obligation by Grabcar

A financial penalty of $10,000 was imposed and a direction was issued to Grabcar for failing to put in place reasonable security arrangements to prevent the unauthorised access of GrabHitch drivers’ and passengers’ personal data via its mobile application.
