Job Applications

  • There is no requirement under the law to ask for NRIC numbers for the purpose of job applications.

Employment

  • Under section 95 of the Employment Act, all employers must maintain detailed employment records of employees covered by the Employment Act, which includes employees’ NRIC number and other relevant information.

  • You are required to provide your NRIC number, among other information, to the organisation when the employment relationship is established.
