An initiative by the Asia Pacific Privacy Authorities (APPA), Privacy Awareness Week (PAW) is held annually by its members to promote awareness of privacy and personal data protection issues. The PDPC is marking the fourth week of May 2021 as PAW in Singapore.

Make Data Protection a Priority

As we adapt to life in the new normal, new challenges arise every day. We may need to change the way we work, or even how we handle our work.

Data use and its protection, too, are evolving with the times. The pandemic has seen a surge in data collection and use as organisations expanded their businesses online. This calls for more emphasis on the protection of digital data.

This year, Singapore’s PAW aims to highlight organisations’ accountability to their customers, and encourage everyone to make data protection a priority, particularly in a time where almost anything can be done online.
